Dig-Next-2
Relay port
The Dig-Next-2 includes a dedicated relay port. The port is a JST PH type but the cable you need for it is included with your controller:

Relay Cable (3pin PH to wire)
- Red = (always) 5V
- Black = GND
- Yellow = (always) 5V trigger
This allows you to connect an external relay board to for instance switch on/off your main power supply while the board stays online using it’s dual-power feature allowing you to connect a 5V USB charger to the USB-C port at the same time as main power is applied to the controller.
The controller will automatically switch over to the USB-C power input and run dedicated from that, allowing you to freely turn on and off the main power supply without the controller going offline. This can save a lot of power for when the LEDs are off anyway, you don’t need to be running a big (inefficient) PSU just to keep the board online.
Unlike previous boards (Dig-Uno/Quad) this port is output only! Standby power can only be provided by the 5V USB-C input port!
The breakout cable comes included with the board!
Connecting a relay to the controller becomes very easy!
