Analog strip review
Auxmer 28.8w 3000k CRI95

Quindor’s personal thoughts

This strip is the best in the QuinLED recommendations and they have been for years! Auxmer basically makes a no-compromise product which actually delivers on their stated claims in regards to power and light output and certainly spectrum. All my YouTube videos for the past year have been lit using their strips and my own controllers and in my opinion the results are excellent!

Absolutely awesome but quite power hungry too (but you get the light output to match the power), make sure to take that into account, will require power injection when longer then 5m/16ft!

The color of the strip is excellent! The 3000k measured spot on with 2989 with a CRI of 97 and an R9 of 89, very nice and absolutely worth the CRI95 strip title!

Downsides? Lumens per watt is a bit less then on more efficient strips, this is however a common tradeoff for getting a better CRI.

Suitable for?
Scale: Great, good, mediocre, bad

Generic/Ambient/Extra lighting | Main lighting | Task lighting | Video&Photo lighting

Explanations:

  • Generic/Ambient/Extra lighting: This strip is perfect for this purpose, it combines a good white spectrum with a great amount of output power!
  • Main lighting: Same deal as above, this strip is perfectly suited for this purpose and will excel at it!
  • Task Lighting: This strip has quite a lot of power, only thing that beats it is a 38.4W/m version from the same manufacturer!
  • Video& Photo lighting: Same as the above, the spectrum and light output volume is great!

Controller and PSU recommendation

Because of the power per meter this is would form an excellent pair with an An-Penta-Plus allowing you to run up to 10m/32ft using the power injection terminals! Shorter lengths up to 2x 4m can also run great on the An-Penta-Mini or lots of them on the An-Penta-Plus!

This strip is quite power hungry with a real wattage of 28.8w per meter it’s recommended to buy a large power supply. For 10m of strip budget a 300w supply and for 20m a 600w power supply!

Power supply recommendation articles:

  • Meanwell frame LRS and UHP (high wattage)
  • Meanwell brick style (up to 100w max)
